Do you ever wonder how some people just seem to attract wealth without (seemingly) any effort? People want to work with them, new opportunities appear all the time and they always have an abundance of money. They seem to be money magnets.
Well, I can tell you why some people are like this… They have either learned consciously or unconsciously, the secret to becoming a money magnet.
Luckily, it’s no secret to me and in this blog post, I will explain 7 steps you can take to attract more money into your life.
1. Set an inspirational financial goal and make a committed decision to accomplish it
How much money do you truly aspire to have?
If you haven’t already, decide on a sum that really excites you; even if it seems impossible. Don’t worry about how you will get there right now, because as I like to say… You can never connect the dots moving forward, only looking back.
Even if you are in debt, I can show you practical ways to get out of it and start creating new income sources that will enable you to progress towards your goal.
Personally, I have had many ups and downs in business. I started with nothing but an idea and still built two companies; selling one of them for £2.25 M. But, then the financial crash happened. I lost almost everything and struggled to earn any income.
However, I picked myself up… With no money at all, I started a company that in just 9 years I grew to a value of £30M. So, don’t worry about where you are now; you just need to have a goal and be committed to it.
Decide on that magic number. If you don’t have a specific number in mind, calculate how much money you would need to pay off all your debt, cover all your bills and live the life you dream of.
When you settle on a number, write it down as a single powerful statement in the present tense.
Write it as if the money you desire is already in your possession. For example: “I’m so happy and grateful now that… I make £1M a year and I’m able to enjoy the life I really want.”
Carry this reminder with you at all times. Every time you read or even touch it, it will remind your subconscious mind to focus on where you want to go. Focusing on a big financial goal inspires you to change your money mindset because the excitement of achieving your dream pulls you forward into your desired financial future.
You then need to make a committed decision. The crucial first step in any plan to improve an area of your life is to make an irrevocable decision to commit to it. That is why whatever goal you set yourself needs to be inspiring enough to make you get up in the morning and reach for it.
2. Replace self-limiting beliefs
As we grow up, we start to form certain beliefs about money that we take from our parents, friends and the general environment. For the vast majority of people, these tend to be quite negative beliefs.
“We can’t afford that.”
“Money doesn’t grow on trees.”
“Money won’t buy you happiness.”
The insinuating effect of these things we’re told growing up is that money is in scarce supply. Or, there is something wrong with wanting it, earning it or being financially fortunate.

If you want to become a money magnet, you have to recognise the false beliefs you have about money and replace them with beliefs that serve your purpose.
Take a few minutes to evaluate the following questions to see what shifts you may need to start making in your mindset:
- Do I believe that I deserve to be wealthy?
- Am I comfortable talking about money?
- Do I really believe I can create financial freedom?
If any of your answers are ‘no’, ask yourself where those beliefs came from and if they are genuinely true. Most of the time, you’ll find that there is no supporting evidence to these beliefs; you’ve just been operating on autopilot because it’s part of your conditioning.
Your beliefs shape your reality. In order to change your reality, you need to first change your belief system. Rather than…
“Money is the root of all evil.”
Change your perspective and embody the belief that…
“Lack of money is the root of all evil.”
3. Become the person you need to be to attract what you desire
If you want to become a millionaire with a certain type of lifestyle, you need to find what character traits you need to become that person and then write them down in as much detail as you can.
Do you need to be knowledgeable? Financially savvy? A good decision-maker? An inspiring leader? Think about the sort of person you need to become and start acting like that person in every situation.
Look at the method actor Daniel Day-Lewis for example; he is renowned for putting an unbelievable amount of effort and work into his roles prior to filming. He turns himself into the character, including adopting the whole mindset of that character and is utterly convincing in every role.

The lesson you can take from this is: Before you attract the things you want, you need to immerse yourself in who you want to be.
4. Use wealth affirmations
One effective way to create new empowering beliefs is to use wealth affirmations, which help to imprint those new beliefs on your subconscious mind.
You can either deeply relax and repeat these to yourself in a meditative state or do this in the mirror instead. You must say them with feeling and conviction to genuinely believe them.
It may seem silly at first but, if you do this consistently on a daily basis, over time you will start to believe it and your mindset will begin to alter.
However affirmations will only work if you do them properly. The reason they are usually ineffective is that there is a conflict between what you’re saying and what you actually believe in your subconscious mind. There is no use looking in the mirror and repeating “I am a billionaire” because the likelihood is, you’re not! Your subconscious mind will simply not accept it and the affirmations will be a waste of time. In order to truly believe your affirmation, it should sound something like this…
“Every day I am learning more and as my knowledge increases, my wealth increases.”
If done properly, affirmations can be extremely powerful.
5. Make personal development a priority in your life
There is a saying I love…
“You can choose in life either to follow the goddess of wisdom or the goddess of money; but if you choose to follow the goddess of wisdom, the goddess of money will follow you.”
I believe that studying and learning are the foundation of building wealth and becoming a money magnet. So, make sure you spend time each day developing your awareness by reading or listening to personal development material.

Also, start spending time with successful people.
There’s a well-known theory that your net worth is usually the average of your 5 closest friends – the people you spend the most time with. The reason for this is that being around clever, successful people is one of the fastest ways to learn and improve.
So, if you want business and wealth opportunities to present themselves to you, being around the right people is crucial.
6. Be kind and generous
It has been scientifically proven that being kind to other people (and animals) makes us happy; it even has beneficial health effects. The memory of doing something kind for someone and how that makes us feel makes us want to do it again.
Embrace this philosophy and don’t just do things because you want to be prosperous – do them because it’s the right thing to do. But, as a benefit, it creates a cycle of generosity and happiness.

You reap what you sow, so whatever you put out to the world is going to come back to you many times over. This cycle will ultimately lead to great prosperity for you.
The compensation, financial rewards and other benefits that you receive from developing the practice of kindness and generosity will exceed all your expectations.
So, make it a habit to leave every person you encounter with the impression of increase…and be prepared to be amazed.
7. Be grateful
When you express gratitude, your energy will immediately shift. It’s impossible to feel negative when you are in a state of genuine gratitude; it instantly puts you in harmony with the universe, so that the good in everything gravitates towards you.
When you have a challenge in life, whether it’s financial, business or other, rather than adding energy to the problem by focusing on it, instead focus on what you’re grateful for.

When you change the way you look at your problems, the problems themselves will actually change – sometimes they will even dissolve altogether…
The more you focus on what’s good in your life, the more things you’ll attract to be thankful for.
I hope you find these tips and advice useful, but awareness alone is not enough. You need to apply what you learn, and it can be hard to do it by yourself.
