Entrepreneurs face many difficulties and hurdles.
Being ultimately responsible for what happens in your company can be a lonely place to be and only fellow entrepreneurs really understand what it’s like.
You’re responsible for your employees, providing for your family, maintaining a sparkling reputation and making sure the cash flows in – pressure from every angle.
It’s inevitable that at one point (or several) in your career, something is going to try and drag you down. Whether you let it, is up to you.
It’s vital that you actively work on being resilient and maintaining a positive attitude, so you can perform at your best and advance towards your goals.
Just like a vampire sucks blood, energy vampires suck the life force out of you. If someone is having a negative influence on your life; they need to go.
These people may come in the form of cynics, gossip spreaders or people who constantly fill you with doom and gloom.
These people can be detrimental to your mental health. Be ruthless and cut the energy vampires from your life and make a conscious effort to spend more time with people who inspire and fill you with positivity.
In life, the only things consistently in your control are what you think, say and do. If you accept everything else as the way it is and recognise that you can’t control everything, you will be at peace.
If you spend your time trying to control the uncontrollable, you will become stressed and end up frustrated and exhausted.
Are you grateful for what you have, or are you always wanting more and comparing your life to others? It’s important to remember that you can have whatever you want if you go about it the right way.
Be grateful for what you already have and create a plan to reach what you would like to have.
We are goal-seeking organisms and all of us perform better when we have a goal in mind. Focus your attention on your goals by writing them out frequently.
Writing causes you to think and focus, so it will help cement your goals into your subconscious mind.
Write them on a goal card and, whenever you have a spare moment, read them out.
Carry the goal card around with you at all times – put it in your pocket so that every time you touch it, you will be subliminally reminded of what you are aiming for.
Let me guess, you’re overly critical of yourself? Often you speak to yourself in a way you would never speak to anyone else. So why do it?
No good comes from criticising your every move. We all make mistakes and you should be more forgiving of yours.
It’s time to be kind.
When you accomplish something such as hitting a milestone or reaching a goal, reward yourself!
Maybe you deserve a spa day, a glass of wine or simply some time to yourself. So stop being hard on yourself and start being nice instead.
Ever get that sluggish feeling in your body and mind? It’s time to get physical. It can be difficult to feel motivated to exercise, especially if you feel like you don’t have time or you’re already exhausted.
But, exercise really does give you more energy and helps you think clearly.
It doesn’t matter how busy you are, you should make time every day to do some form of exercise, even if that’s just going for a brisk walk.
Are you doing enough for YOU? It’s so important to find time each day to do something that makes you happy, even if it’s only for five minutes. Whatever it is you enjoy doing, whether that’s spending time with friends and family, reading or going out for coffee. Plan ahead and block out regular times to do those things you enjoy and recharge your batteries.
If you’re an entrepreneur or you’re working within the world of business and you are struggling with the hurdles – you don’t have to face them alone.
